Ever since I turned fifty I’ve had a strong interest in happiness, quality of life and well-being. I started reading books about related topics, got to meet some thought leaders in the field, went to conferences and dabbled with some wellbeing consulting. Early on I realized there was a science behind happiness, quality of life and wellbeing. That science was positive psychology.
My number one character strength is love of learning, so when I discovered positive psychology I had to dig deeper. Through lots of reading, course work, conferences, and volunteering with the Canadian Positive Psychology Association (CPPA) I developed a more in-depth knowledge of positive psychology. My involvement with the CPPA (briefly as President of the association) brought me together with many of the world thought leaders and practitioners in positive psychology. I quickly became a strong advocate of the value of positive psychology interventions (tools and techniques) in happiness, quality of life, and improved wellbeing.
The Positive Life and Living web site is my attempt to create community or movement related to awareness, collaboration and sharing of knowledge, tools, and techniques that promote positive life. living, longevity and positive aging.
